Future.

If you’re thinking hover cars, cordless toasters, and in-home tanning beds - we are thinking about two different things. I am talking about my future. The whens, and wheres, and whos, and ifs! I think it’s absolutely nutsy that I am considered abnormal, or even by some insane, because I am not shipping myself off to college right away. The biggest argument I hear is, “if you don’t go right away, you’ll never go”. But why is this? Are we really going to accept this generality as an absolute truth, that If I don’t force myself to go instantly, I will be too weak, too unmotivated, or too carefree to further my education? That’s nutsy.

This is how it works, I run out on my own for a while, and if things don’t work out, I can go back to school! There is no heavy set and over grown demon that’s going to prevent me from doing that - it’s so simple its almost laughable. I’m doooooooooooooooooooomed!

Consider the following: As the great book says, the more educated you are, the more successful you will be, the more successful you are, the happy you are. But, I can’t fall for that. For one thing, what defines success? And another, how can you define my happiness?

Now for the facts: Of all americans, about 84% consider themselves happy with there current life. That’s a pretty happy number. Now refer back to the book, of those 84%, 84% should have college degrees right? Because the only way to further your education is via degree right? Oh, how wrong. Only, 29% of americans have successfully earned there B degree. So why isn’t everyone miserable? College and happiness therefore have no correlation. You could argue against that, but this is about me, not you, and what I want to do, not you. To be fair, more than 29% of americans go off to college, just not all of them graduate, which further justifies my planned hiatus. Read: “Many students simply aren’t equipped to attend. They can’t foot the bill, or don’t have the academic skills. For many, their personal habits interfere with their success. Besides money, college demands maturity and self-discipline. If you don’t have those, college can chew you up (via)” Hmm, so when I tell people, “I just don’t feel ready” I think I know what I am talking about.

Furthermore, “…a college degree no longer guarantees a good job. It might not guarantee any job at all.” Zing! I’m sorry but I can’t see myself waiting around for years, paying out of my ass, to be handed a piece of paper, and to then become respected. I want to get my hands dirty, I want to do my own work, and earn my job, and show people that there’s reverence for the man who’s independent.

With that said, what am i going to do? Well, with any industry you want to get noticed. So thus, I would need to be unique, dynamic, entertaining, and passionate - these are all givens. But what I think is the most important, is that you need to break rules. The world is a black and white jungle, and I am a filthy and rich guerilla, colorful, angry, and worth listening too. I embody this philosophy in the following simple quote, “Let’s Fuck Things Up”. In the end, I can’t imagine falling short. What ever happens, will lead to more happenings, and so fourth. You can’t stop me from being happy. In conclusion, I will leave you with these inspirational words…
